BABY BOOTIES FOR LIFE

If you didn’t pick up your pair of booties at Mass last week it’s not too late! To show our respect for the sanctity of human life, St. Peter and St. Dominic Churches are participating in Vermont Right to Life’s “Baby Booties for Life” fundraiser again this year. It’s easy! There are containers at all the entrances of the Church. Just take home a pair of baby booties and bring them back full of change by Father’s Day, June 20/21. It is very important that the booties are returned even though you are not able to put money in them as they are very expensive to replace. All proceeds will be donated to Vermont Right to Life. For more information, please call St. Peter Rectory during the week. Thank you.

BISHOP’S FUND

Please prayerfully consider a sacrificial pledge to this year’s Bishop’s Fund by being as generous as your means will allow. Last year donors generously gave an average gift of $195. As always, every dollar donated to the Bishop’s Fund is used solely for the many programs supported by the Bishop’s Fund.

CATHOLIC BOOK CLUB FOR WOMEN – You are invited to join the book club at our next meeting on Tuesday, July 7 when we will be discussing “The Quest for Shakespeare” by Joseph Pearce. We will meet in Engle Hall downstairs at Christ the King Church from 7:00 – 8:30 PM. For more information or help getting a book, please call Anne Mercier at 775-1010 or email at merciermob@hotmail.com.

Dear Father Corley:

We have received notification from Fr. Roger Charbonneau, Propagation of the Faith Director, for the Diocese of Burlington, informing us of the amount collected from the appeal given by Brother Terence Skorka, C.P. on behalf of Passionist Overseas Missions at St. Peter and St. Dominic the weekend of April 25/26, 2009.

The total amount collected was:  $888.00 ($749.00 at St. Peter in Rutland and $139.00 at St. Dominic in Proctor.

Father Corley, the people of St. Peter and St. Dominic were most generous to the needs of those we serve through Passionist Overseas Missions. We are most grateful to them for their interest and support of our Mission efforts. Please be sure to extend to them our sincere gratitude for their generosity.

Sincerely in Christ’s Passion,

Brother Leo Di Fiore, C.P., Religious Administrative Coordinator, Passionist Overseas Missions
