FIVE STEPS TO SAFER ENVIRONMENTS

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington mandates that all people who work with children and youth in our parishes and schools must undergo child abuse prevention training through the VIRTUS program. The training details five steps to prevent child sexual abuse: Know the warning signs of an inappropriate relationship with a child.

 

  1. Know the warning signs!
  2. Control access to children by carefully selecting the adults who work with children and youth.
  3. Monitor all programs for the safety of children and youth.
  4. Be aware of and sensitive to what is going on in the lives of children.
  5. Communicate concerns to the appropriate person in authority.

THE LIFE IN THE SPIRIT SEMINAR will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Union St., Windsor, VT from April 14th – May 19th, 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM. This mini-course in the Holy Spirit will give you a deeper appreciation of Jesus and the Holy Spirit and prepare you for the experience of baptism in the Holy Spirit. IN HONOR OF EARTH DAY AND OUR ROLE AS STEWARDS OF GOD’S WORLD

The Eco-Mission Committee invites everyone to join us on Sunday, April 20 at the Grace Congregational Church, 8 Court St., Rutland @ 12:30 PM for a presentation and conversation with John Casella, of Casella Waste Management Inc., who will be with us to share his experience and visions for the future of sustainability and our role as stewards of the earth. How can we as a church community and as individuals care for God’s world in very tangible ways? Come and learn!
