Any more donations to Adam De Blasio’s Eagle Scout Project on the Holy Family Shrine, can be sent to or dropped off at St. Peter’s Rectory. Please make your checks payable to Adam. Thank you for your donation of $1,281.00 so far. As you can see, your dollars are already working as the trees have been removed. More donations are needed.

 

 

Thank you to the St. Peter’s Gardening Committee for beautifying our Church grounds.

 

 

 

BISHOP’S FUND

 

The 2009 Bishop’s Fund Campaign is nearing completion. St. Peter’s has already raised a total of $34,211 of their $37,925 goal – St. Dominic’s has raised a total of $8,160 of their $10,295 goal.  Thank you to everyone who has already made a gift to this year’s effort. If you have not yet made your gift, envelopes are available at the entrances of both Churches.

 

 

Vacation Bible School this year will be held on August 3rd to the 7th . Sign up forms can be picked up at the Union Church porch or in the rear of St. Dominic’s Church. Please contact Marie Baccei at 459-2834 for any questions.

 

 

DONATIONS ARE NEEDED to purchase flowers for St. Peter’s for the Feast of the Assumption in August. If you wish to make a donation, please call Lena Tedesco at 775-0585 or Nancy Benincasa at 773-6271. You may also put your donation in an envelope marked “Assumption Flowers” and put it in the Offertory basket at Mass. If you make a donation, please make the checks payable to Lena or Nancy. EUCHARISTIC ADORATION AT MSJ

Come visit with Jesus. The Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is now available each Friday, from 12:00 – 2:30 PM at the Immaculate Conception Chapel at MSJ, 127 Convent Ave., Rutland. All are welcome. Come spend 15 minutes, 30 minutes or an hour. Come pray, sit, reflect and listen to Our Lord. You will not be sorry. If you have any questions, call 775-0151. Use the main entrance to MSJ. The dates for August are:  August 7, 14, 21 & 28.

 

 


 

 

HELP SUPPORT MSJ ATHLETIC PROGRAMS!

The MSJ Athletic Association is sponsoring its annual Cash Raffle. Tickets are $60.00 each. The raffle is Saturday, August 22, 2009, 7:00 PM at the American Legion Post #31 on Washington St., Rutland. There will be free food, refreshments and door prizes. “MEDIEVAL TO MOZART”

Olivia Gawet, soprano and William Gower-Johnson, organ will present a recital of music from the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and Classical periods on Thursday, August 6 at 7:00 PM at St. Bridget Church in West Rutland. FUEL ASSISTANCE FOR SENIORS

For older Vermonters who are concerned about paying their heating bills this winter, it might be time to consider applying for help through the Vermont Home Heating Fuel Assistance Program. To receive the maximum fuel benefit by November, it’s important to apply by the August 31 deadline. Those applying before the second deadline of November 30 will receive a full benefit in January. After that deadline, the benefit will arrive later and be a reduced amount. To obtain an application, or to discuss the program, call the Senior HelpLine at 1-802-786-5991, 1-800-642-5119 or the Office of Home Heating Fuel Assistance 1-800-479-6151.

 

 

MASS OF THANKSGIVING

The Most Reverend Salvatore R. Matano, Bishop of Burlington cordially invites the faithful of the Diocese of Burlington to join with our priests at a Mass of Thanksgiving, in this Year of the Priest, on Tuesday, August 4 at 7:00 PM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Pine Street, Burlington, VT.

There will be music and the women of the parish will be selling Italian cookies and other delicacies to benefit the St. Anthony’s Guild.
