I ask for God’s blessing on all those celebrating Father’s Day. With a sense of appreciation and gratitude may all Father’s celebrate this day in a special and meaningful way.

I attended Fr. Sam Fuller’s ordination as a priest on Saturday, June 7, at Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers, NY. It was a very special and deeply spiritual occasion. Fr. Sam will celebrate the 5:15 PM Mass next Saturday, June 21, followed by a reception at the Howe Center. Please make every effort to attend. Fr. Sam will also celebrate the 9:15 AM Mass at St. Dominic on Sunday, June 22.

St. Peter and St. Dominic congratulates all of our young people who graduated from High School recently. We pray that you will always be aware of God’s love and care for you and will respond to His love by remaining active members of our Catholic communities. May God bless you all.

BISHOP’S FUND

The 2008 Bishop’s Fund is off to a great start. Our goal for this year is $39,200 for St. Peter and $11,250 for St. Dominic. We have already raised a total of $8,430 for St. Peter and $4,065 for St. Dominic. Thank you to all those who have already contributed to this 50th anniversary Bishop’s Fund appeal.

BABY BOOTIES FOR LIFE

This is collection week for our Baby Bootie fundraiser. If you forgot your baby booties, a collection container will be available at next week’s masses. Thank you for your support of this worthwhile cause for the sanctity of human life! They cannot afford any lost baby booties so please don’t forget to bring them back as soon as possible.

PRAYER FOR FATHERS

Dear Lord,

Help all fathers in the task set before them.

As you helped Adam see his wife as his partner, help all      fathers treasure their wives as partners in life.

As you helped Saint Joseph in the virtue of obedience,   help all fathers obey your will.

As you helped Jesse raise his son David to holiness, help     all fathers grow in personal righteousness.

As you helped Abraham, Issac and Jacob grow their families into tribes and nations, help all fathers treasure their children as they are treasured by their heavenly father.

Though all sin and fall short, help every father to rise      and be the man of God he is called to be.  Amen.
