RCIA PROGRAM
FOR BELIEVERS AND WOULD-BE BELIEVERS
The RCIA process is designed
to help persons in one or more of the following groups:
- Catholics who want to deepen their understanding
of their Faith.
- Adult Catholics preparing for 1st Communion and
Confirmation.
- Returning Catholics.
- Non-Catholics who want to learn more about
Catholic Christianity.
- Non-Catholics who want to become a member of the
Catholic Church.
RCIA is the process of
learning and living the message of Jesus as revealed in the Scriptures and in
Catholic tradition. The program explores the teachings, practices, and history
of the Catholic Church – so that each person involved in the process comes to
enjoy a fuller, richer understanding of God and his/her relationship to God and
community. For enrollment or for more
information, please contact Fr. Ted at 775-1994.

FROM
FR. SAM:
As I prepare to leave for my assignment at our parish, St. Pius X, I
want to express my gratitude for the opportunity of being able to grow in
Christ and in ministry with you this past year. It has been a unique year;
first, to sit among you as a brother, then to serve you as a deacon and now to
be ordained as a priest. The year has brought forth many gifts but from the
very beginning, I knew it was a blessing to simply be here. The opportunity to
grow and learn with you in such a variety of circumstances, ministries,
meetings and evaluations proved to be a grace upon grace. I have let the
formation team of my province know as such. I leave with a firm and rich
foundation for my ministry of service as a priest. I also carry prayers for the
continued growth of the parishes of St. Peter and St. Dominic, along with prayers
for your own individual journey in Christ.
In the peace and joy of Christ as inspired by St. Francis,
Fr. Sam

The Activities Committee
would like to thank all who participated in the feast of the Assumption Picnic
on August 17. It seemed that everyone had a fun time.
There are so many people who
contributed to this wonderful event. We would like to thank the Knights of
Columbus for being part of our ceremony and leading the procession, Joe Tilden
who obtained the permit for the procession, the music for the procession led by
Gus Bloch, Lena Tedesco and Nancy Benincasa and everyone who donated for the
flowers and the people who participated in the procession, Joe Eno for getting
the MSJ gym, MSJ for letting us use the gym, Baker Distributing for the water
and flavored water, Caprice for the soda, our cooks, George & Cheryl Hooker
and Carol & Joe Barbagallo, Helen Shappy and all of the people who donated
baked goods and money and to those who helped to sell them to contribute to the
St. Anthony Guild, all of the people who helped to set up, serve and clean up
(Cathy, Bill, Heidi, Lorraine, Sue, Les Eno, Esty, Beth, Jim Davidson, once
again for his music during the picnic, Helen and Sylvia for collecting the
money, Bob Walsh for the donations for the chips and Frank Dunn of Fassetts
Bakery for the donation of the hot dog and hamburger rolls. Tony Romeo once
again helped with the meat from Cartiers and the paper goods, donated by Foley
Distributing, Angie and Dick for the salads and all the extra help, Carol and
Wayne (our soda monitors), Peter Giancola for the griddle and grill, Nichole
and Joe Peterson for all their help, and Linda was the contact person for the
advertising to all the local Parishes. A special thank you to the people of St.
Dominic’s that helped sell the tickets and Joe Eno who printed the tickets.
Thanks to the young ladies who sold the 50/50 raffle tickets and to Helen
Davidson who donated a lap robe as part of the 50/50 raffle. We do appreciate
everyone who had a hand in this fun time. There are always so many people
behind the scenes, we certainly don’t want to miss mentioning them, but we may
miss a few. If we missed mentioning you, we are truly sorry.
The weather was fantastic. IT WAS A GREAT TIME AND WE HOPE EVERYONE
HAD A CHANCE TO VISIT WITH EACH OTHER AND ENJOY THE FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTIN
PICNIC.
See you next year!!!
