CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAS is offering the following scholarships:

  • A $750 State Scholarship for a graduating college bound senior. Deadline for applications is 5/1/09.
  • Two Fr. Leonard Bachmann Graduate Scholarships - $3,000 & $1,000 will be awarded to persons who have completed undergraduate studies and who desire assistance for tuition in order to continue on the graduate level. Applicants must be enrolled in a college or university graduate program. Deadline is 5/1/09.

CHRIST THE KING SCHOOL RUMMAGE SALE will be held on Saturday, April 25 in the CKS Gym from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Donations will be accepted in the gym on Monday, April 20. The following items will not be accepted: non-working electronics, mattresses, old skis, computers, microwaves and anything with an odor, stains or torn/ripped. Thank you.


CURSILLO WEEKEND

If you are seeking a way to discover more about the spiritual side of yourself…want to develop a deeper relationship with Jesus…and share it with others…consider attending a Catholic Cursillo (pronounced kur-see-yo). During three days, you will live and work together in a Christian environment, listening to talks by laity and clergy. You will pray together and celebrate the Eucharist every day. CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH – The month of April is set aside to remember victims of child abuse. Please visit the USCCB web page at www.USCCB.org. Scroll down to Child Abuse Prevention and click on their link http://www.usccb.org/ocyp/april cap month 2009.shtml and hear the message from the Executive Director speaking about the progress of Diocesan compliance with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People.

 

 

INSTITUTE FOR CATHOLIC ENRICHMENT PROGRAM deadline has been extended to May 15. This program is open to all adults over the age of 21. Classes will meet on most Saturday mornings for approximately 2.5 hours between September 2009 and May 2010. Those who wish to continue in Lay Apostolate Formation program or who want to apply for the Permanent Diaconate program must first complete the classes offered through the Institute for Catholic Enrichment. GRAND PRIZE DRAWING

The Grand Prize Drawing is set for Saturday, April 18 beginning at 6:30 PM at the Howe Center. Dinner will be a supper-buffet. We will be drawing one $200 dollar winner and two $500 winners.
