Did You Know?

Recognizing Signs of Child Sexual Abuse

Changes in behavior, extreme mood swings, withdrawal, fearlessness, excessive crying, bed-wetting, nightmares, fear of going to bed, sleep disorders, and a fear of certain places, people, or activities can be signs that a child has been traumatized by sexual abuse.

For particular help you may call, Kevin Scully or Jeanne Bruno at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington at 1-802-658-6110.

THE COMMUNITY CUPBOARD would like to thank you for your first quarter contribution of 369 food items. We are dependent on charitable contributors like you. Without continued support from our community, churches, businesses, schools and organizations, we would not be able to provide much needed food assistance to 13,000 people annually. The Cupboard is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

PLEASE NOTE:  The Letter Carriers Food Drive will be held on Saturday, May 8. The Rutland area has the opportunity to obtain the #1 designation in the country for food collection for a community our size. Encourage everyone you know to put out a bag of food by their mailbox on that day, or food donations can be brought directly to the post office. If brought to the Rutland post office, please bring the food to the back of the post office off Pine Street.

ST. ANNA’S ORPHANAGE UPDATE

FROM SR. DOROTHY PILKINGTON

As the season of Lent draws to a close, I am reminded of the many sacrifices Our Circle of Love family made for the precious little gifts at St. Anna’s Orphanage. Presently we have twenty little ones from the ages of two and one-half months to a little over two years. During Advent, school children of all ages, families and friends made sacrifices to assist us with the necessary finances to purchase a new family size washer and dryer plus a stove! How God blessed us as many in Our Circle of Love requested their Christmas gifts to be a donation for the children of Uwemba! To all, we say THANK YOU. Please remember that daily you are in our prayers, Triduum of Masses several times a year and monthly Masses.
