 ADULT CONFIRMATION PROGRAM

The Catholic Churches of Rutland County would like to offer an opportunity for their parishioners to receive the sacrament of Confirmation in the Spring, 2009.  The confirmation candidate must meet the following requirements:

1. You must be 18 years old

2. You must have been baptized and received First Holy Communion as a Catholic

3. If you are married, your marriage must have been recognized and blessed by the Catholic Church.

  There will be five classes which will meet at St. Dominic Church Hall in Proctor on the following Tuesdays  January 12, 20, 27 and February 2 and 10 from 7 PM until 8:15 PM These classes will present an overview of our Catholic faith. Please contact Fr. Ted for an application at 775-1994.

RUTLAND DEANERY YOUTH MINISTRY

Our monthly masses are in full swing, with our next Mass on January 4, 2009 at 5 PM at St. Bridget Church, West Rutland.  I hope many of you will come and share in this celebration.  We are also still seeking more committee members for help with a variety of things.  If you are interested, or for more information, please contact Olivia Gawet, Youth Ministry Coordinator at (802) 775-0151  or by email OliviaGwenGawet@hotmail.com We will also begin rehearsal soon for a Lenten play "Seven Signs."  Auditions will be held on Saturday, January 10 at MSJ in Rutland beginning at 10 AM.

RALLY FOR LIFE MASS will be held on Saturday, January 17th at 9:30 AM at St. Augustine Church in Montpelier.  Bishop Salvatore Matano will be the main Celebrant.

VERMONT CATHOLIC CHARITIES "GIVING TREE CAMPAIGN" NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT:  The Vermont Catholic Charities annual Giving Tree campaing for the needy is underway and unfortunately, under goal.  VCC is asking for $27,000 to meet the needs of the many Vermonters who count on their help.  Contributions to date only total $14,000.  Coordinator, Jean Bailey says: "We hope our generous past supporters will help us meet our goal again this year, in spite of these very difficult financial times.  Please send dontations to "VCC Giving Tree" PO Box 989 Burlington VT 05402.  For questions or more information, please call (802) 658-6111, or visit the diocesan website at  www.vermontcatholic.org and click on the VCC Advent Giving Campaign Link
