Next Sunday, March 29, the Deanery Lenten Penance Service will be at St. Peter Church at 3:00 PM. The priests of the Rutland county parishes will be here for the service and available for Confessions. Please make an effort to attend and use it as a good opportunity to prepare for Easter.

 

On the following Sundays, March 22 and 29, at the 11:00 AM Mass, our parish will celebrate the Scrutinies for our Catechumen, Harriet Parot (who will be baptized at the Easter Vigil) and for our Candidate, Erica Holmquist (who will make a Profession of Faith as a Catholic at the Easter Vigil).The Scrutinies are ceremonies which pray for our Catechumen and Candidate that the Holy Spirit may heal all that is weak and sinful in their hearts and bring out and strengthen all that is upright, strong and good.

  

ST. DOMINIC’S ADOPT A CHARITY

This month we will be collecting for the Open Door Mission. The Open Door Mission not only has the soup kitchen, they provide temporary housing for homeless veterans. These veterans may stay for 90 days to help them get on their feet. We will be collecting toiletries for these veterans this month. Some items that you may want to donate:

     Toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, combs, brushes,    Kleenex, shampoo and deodorant.

There will be a Comedy Night on Saturday, April 4 at the Franklin Conference Center to benefit Christ the King School. A hilarious evening of ADULT comedy – a guaranteed night of laughs. Three professional comedians who have performed nationwide will entertain and delight you. Hurry, tickets for both the 6:30 PM show and the 9:00 PM show are available – but they will go fast. Cost is $25.00 per person. Doors open at 6:00 PM for the 6:30 PM show and 8:30 PM for the 9:00 PM show. Chances to win great gift baskets and travel raffle/booster drawn that night.

WELCOME BACKPACK – DISMAS HOUSE

We are still collecting items for the Dismas House packpacks. Dismas House, a residential program which helps those formerly jailed or imprisoned to make the transition to a new civilian life, is asking support to fill backpacks for their residents. There are baskets with individual items on slips of paper at the entrances of the Church. Please take a slip and return the item to church by March 28/29. This will be a good charity for the season of Lent.

 

IMPORTANT REMINDER!!!!!

A registration form and letter has been sent to all our parishioners from St. Peter and St. Dominic. Every parishioner, whether you use envelopes or not, must fill out the registration form and return it to St. Peter Church, 134 Convent Ave., Rutland by March 31. The purpose of the registration form is to update our records for the new computer program. If you do not return the registration form, we will assume that you do not want to be a registered parishioner.
