Monday, November 2, All Souls Day, we will have a memorial Mass at St. Peter at 7:00 PM to remember all those buried from our two parish communities, St. Peter & St. Dominic, in the last year. During Mass each person’s name will be read, and a candle will be lighted in remembrance of the deceased. Please join us for this special commemoration of our faithful departed.

 

Bishop Matano will join us for the 11:00 AM Mass at St. Peter on Sunday, November 8 to celebrate the ordination of Fr. Richard Crawley. Please join us for this special Mass.

CATHOLIC BOOK CLUB FOR WOMEN – The book for November discussion will be “The Echo of God” by Fr. Lance Harlow. The discussion will be on November 3 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM in Engel Hall at Christ the King Church. Fr. Justin has some copies of the book for sale. CHRISTMAS SALE – St. Bridget Church in West Rutland will host a Christmas Sale on Saturday, November 18 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM in the parish hall. There will be baked goods, hand made crafts and other specialty items. Raffle tickets will be sold for a variety of prizes. Lunch counter will be available from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. ST. MARY’S PARISH HOLIDAY BAZAAR will be held on Saturday, November 7 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at St. Mary’s Parish Hall at the corner of College and Shannon Streets in Middlebury featuring crafts, foods, raffles, gifts and decorations. For more information, please call 388-2943.

 

MASS FOR BEREAVED PARENTS will be held on November 2, 2009 by Bishop Salvatore R. Matano beginning at 7:00 PM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 20 Pine St., Burlington. This Mass will be offered for all parents who grieve the loss of a child, whether before birth, as an infant, during childhood, or as an adult; and whether this loss occurred recently or long ago. All are welcome to attend, especially parents, grandparents, and extended family and friends of bereaved families.

 HARLEM SUPERSTARS will play the College of St. Joseph men’s basketball team on Sunday, November 8 at the College of St. Joseph in Rutland at 7:00 PM. ALTAR SERVERS RECRUITMENT

I would like to recruit new altar servers for St. Peter Parish.  Any child from Grade 5 thru high school is eligible.  The classes will be on the following Sunday’s in November.  November 1 & 8.  Please call the Rectory, or ask Fr. Ted for the registration form.

 

 

BLIZZARD BAGS

 

The Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts a cold, snowy winter. Please help the Council on Aging to provide bundles of shelf stable foods to 800 homebound or isolated seniors, for “emergency stash” on a day we can’t deliver Meals on Wheels. We are asking for your help with donations of some specific items:

 

6.75 – 8 ounce fruit juice (100% juice) – juice boxes

4 ounce peaches, pears, mandarin oranges, pineapple or fruit cocktail – snack packs

4 ounce apple sauce – snack packs

4 ounce pudding – snack packs

 

The collection will take place from now until Sunday, November 1. There are Blizzard Bag boxes at the entrances of St. Peter’s and St. Dominic’s.

 

 

THANKSGIVING BASKETS

Again this year, St. Peter’s will be putting together Thanksgiving Baskets for needy families. There are slips of paper at the entrances of the Church with names of food items that are needed. Please take a slip or slips and bring that food item to Church on or before Sunday, November 22.
